Victoria's LSU Room
 
After blood, sweat, fighting, and tears, my daughter's LSU bedroom is
finally complete. Thankfully, Home Depot has the official LSU
collegiate paint colors to ease the pain of picking the right purple
and gold. I think my husband and I had too much fun picking out the
accessories and furniture for Victoria's LSU room makeover for her
birthday. She loves her new LSU room and is a diehard Tiger fan. I'm
sure she will want to do the same thing to her dorm room when she
goes to LSU in a few years, if she can bear moving out of her new

Geaux Tigers Dune Buggy
 The
thought process about an LSU dune buggy started 2 years ago while
watching a Mardi Gras parade on St. Charles in New Orleans. A group of
Shriners paused in front of us for a few minutes. We were able to talk
with one guy about his buggy. It was then that my friend and I decided
to build an LSU buggy together. My friend's passion weakened over time
and his buggy plans were eventually replaced with a new Harley
Davidson. That's when I started looking on the internet to put a buggy
together myself. In May 2005, I stumbled across a site where I could
build a turn-key buggy in about 3 months. They are based in California
and were very easy to work with on the build. He has never designed a
buggy for anyone in Louisiana. As far as the colors selected, I told
him to use the Lakers purple and gold colors. It was just like
ordering a car at the dealership. There is a base cost for a standard
dune buggy, then there are options you can add to customize your
buggy. Dan, at Bandit Buggies, did an awesome job on my buggy. It's so
much fun to ride around town in it and see all the many smiles, waves,
horn blowing, and finger pointing that occurs from other LSU fans! I
have an LSU treatment room here at my dental office, an LSU study in
my house, and an LSU pool in my back yard. Needless to say, I bleed
purple and gold! I just purchased a covered trailer for it and plan to
take the buggy on LSU road trips as well as the beach and VW rallies
around the area. Look for me soon on the road, you can't miss me!

Katrina
can't keep those Tiger fans down!
 LSU fans and
New Orleans evacuees cheer on the Tigers after some lost their New
Orleans' homes to Katrina. Angela Gomon of New Orleans says she is blessed
after losing her Lakeview home and Charity hospital job to Katrina. She
and her kids are thankful for her donated home in Baker outside of Baton
Rouge and is now working as a nurse at Summit Hospital in Baton Rouge. I
was personally touched to see her and her relatives (sister, niece Taylor
and others) cheering on the LSU Tigers three Saturdays in a row in Tiger
Stadium. See the photos below of their families and mine enjoying the LSU
Tigers vs. North Texas game day experience.
